December Events

Good Morning,


It is my hope and prayer that everyone had a great Thanksgiving.  It is very hard for me to believe that we are in the month of December already!  With this month upon us, we have many different things going on.  The purpose of this email is to remind you of everything that we have.  So here we go...

1.  Tomorrow, we will not have youth group because of the Thanksgiving weekend and there is the Hanging of the Greens at church.  Here is the schedule for tomorrow evening:
5:30 PM - We’ll begin the evening with a potluck dinner in Fellowship Hall.  
                 Please bring a main dish, side dish, dessert or all three! 
6:30 PM - We’ll worship with music provided by both our Chancel Choir
                 and Praise Band in the Sanctuary.
7:00 PM - We’ll decorate our beautiful historic church while we enjoy hot
                 chocolate and fun Christmas music.
2. As I mentioned for the last couple of weeks in Sunday school, I had to move the Tuttle Christmas Shopping trip because Aaron has an event we need to attend on Sunday.  On Saturday, December 7th, we will meet at the church at 12:00pm and head up to Tuttle Mall for a few hours of shopping for your loved ones.  After shopping, we will head over to the Zoo to look at the Zoo Lights.  The cost for this trip will be $20 to include admission to the zoo and fuel.  Please bring any money for any shopping you would like to do.

3. December 18th we will be providing dinner and crafts for the students and families that attend snack and learn and all those who reside in Lincoln Park. Please plan to come to the church as early as possible after school. I will begin at 3:30 pm preparing the dinner with the actual dinner at Lincoln Park being from 5pm - 7pm.  Following dinner I will also need help cleaning up.  Please plan to come to help out with either serving food or helping make crafts.

4.  On December 19th and 20th we will have the pick up for our "Giving Tree" gifts at the church.  If you are able to help wrap presents, visit with our friends from the south end or would be willing to help with anything else on these days please plan to.  We will need help from 5-8pm on Thursday night and 8:30-12:00pm on Friday morning (I know some of you are in school, but if not, plan to join us).

5.  Finally, on December 22nd, we will have our Living Nativity/ Christmas Party.  We are going to change the times of youth group slightly to allow for a longer time to complete all that we want to do.  We will begin youth group at 5:30 pm and go until 8:30 pm.  Please plan to bring a $5 gift to participate in our gift exchange game.
