I would like to begin by mentioning that we will have youth group tomorrow since we didn't have an event this weekend as originally scheduled. I had originally mentioned that we would take the whole youth time tomorrow and go to the park to cook out and play but it looks likes we are in for 70% rain and thunder tomorrow so I am going to say that we won't go to the park. However, I would like to have all youth plan on being at youth for the entire time and we can do a movie night. I haven't decided on the movie yet but a rainy night like that will be great for a movie and some popcorn. SO ALL YOUTH PLAN TO ATTEND FROM 6-8:30pm tomorrow.
It has come to my attention over the last few weeks that the months of April and May are VERY busy for many of us (I guess I should have known that and it will take it into consideration in planning for next year). Because of the craziness of the schedules, unfortunately I will have to cancel the 30-Hour Famine. I had only 4 people tell me that they could definitely take part in it. I would however like some feedback as to when you think a good month would be to have an event like this because I think it does teach valuable lessons and would like to plan it for next year some time. WE WILL NOT HAVE THE 30-HOUR FAMINE NEXT WEEKEND.
Since we won't be doing the 30-Hour Famine, there is a City of Hope kick off event on May 4th that I thought we could participate in for those who are available and able. I not sure of the exact time in the morning but if you are at all interested, let me know. Here is the website to City of Hope if you want to check out what it is all about. http://www.chillicothecityhope.com/#+/what/
I also mentioned this last week at youth and Sunday School but I wanted to make sure I put the word out there. The mission trip that was scheduled for June 5-9th has also been cancelled due to the unavailability of many people. I will be scheduling 2-3 one day mission projects over the summer as soon as I look at the church calendar and get some dates. Look for a future email with that information. Some of the dates may be weekdays while others could be on s Saturday.
Lastly, please put on your Calendar May 19th when we will be recognizing our seniors in church. The seniors will be recognized during the service of their choice. We would then like to have a celebratory picnic for them after church in the green space. We will need some help setting up, serving and cleaning up. Please plan to come and help!
I think that's all for now.
Have a great Saturday!
In Christ,
Matt Ballentine
